Today’s Easy Financial Task: Identify investment goals and current investments

How to rock this task:

  • Identify your investment goals. Use a retirement calendar to help
  • Take out and review the investments that you currently have

Now that you’ve gotten comfortable with some investment definitions, let’s identify your investment goals and review your current investments.

Yay, it’s another video day! In this week’s video, I share how to define your risk tolerance, and your investing: why, when, what and how.

The most important part of investing is setting a goal. Without one you won’t know what to work towards or how to measure success. An easy way to establish a goal is by using a retirement calculator to discover exactly how much you need to invest to retire comfortably. Try the Prudential’s Retirement Plan Savings Calculator here: http://www.preparewithpru.com/shared/content/retirement-plan-savings-calculator.php

Once you’ve identifed how much you’ll need to retire, take out and review your portfolio. Don’t know what you’re looking at? That’s okay, make a list of questions that you have because tomorrow we’ll start to get them answered. Some of the things you should be looking for are:

  1. How much money you have invested.
  2. How well your investments are doing.
  3. Your investment allocations.
  4. Your investmenrisk tolerancece (conservative, moderate, or aggressive).

LearnVest has a quick quiz you can take to identify your investment personality here: http://www.learnvest.com/2010/10/whats-your-investing-personality-the-lv-risk-assessment-quiz/

If you don’t have any investments, don’t panic. Now’s a great time to start. Tomorrow I’ll show you how to get professional help to get you up and running. Also, remember we’ll be starting a LIVE RICHER Investment Club soon. Yup! 🙂

FYI:

My Lisa Rule: I have 4 sisters and Lisa is the baby (well she’s not a baby anymore). Of all of my sisters I’m the most protective over her. Before I share any product or service with you, it must pass my Lisa Rule.

What’s the Lisa Rule? If I would not advise Lisa to use a product or service, I won’t advise you to. YOU are my Lisas. I feel protective over you and your financial journey.

The products/services mentioned in this post pass my Lisa Rule. Yes, I’m an affiliate, but I would not recommend a product or service that I didn’t believe was helpful and useful.

I am The Assertive One… retirement still makes me confused. I know I give each month out of my paycheck and that’s about it lol.
